Do you use Q-Pulse in central or local government, or a government agency?

I'm aware that some of the Community users use Q-Pulse in central or local government, or a government agency.

As a former local goverment employee, I'm really interested in how Q-Pulse could be used and would love to know more!

Please reply and tell us how you use (or plan to use) Q-Pulse.

    Hi Daniel,

We have been using q-pulse in Environmental Services for over 10 years now.  Over this time, the use of the system has extended to cover more services and users - the only module not in use is the Supplier Module.  On the down side - we are still using Version 4.2 and I'm desperate to upgrade to the new version.  As always just waiting for finances to be released for upgrade, training etc.  If you have any specific queries please feel free to contact me.

PS It's nice to know that local authorities are not being overlooked!

    cheers

    Ann

    Ann,

Thanks very much for registering and making your post!

I was a Communications Officer with North Lanarkshire Council prior to joining Gael and looking back, could see many uses for Q-Pulse, especially in terms of Risk Registers, controlled documents, staff training, etc. I was in the Housing & Social Work department.

Is Q-Pulse only used in Environmental Services or is it used throughout the council?

    Good morning Daniel,

I don't know if any other department uses q-pulse - it would only be in use if the service was registered to ISO9001, and I couldn't tell you which of the Council services have ISO 9001.

The Council's approach to quality is that all services should achieve Charter Mark. The decision regarding any other quality standard is left up to the departments.

Our department currently has Charter Mark, ISO 9001, ISO22000, BSi Benchmark, and we will be working towards ISO18001 this year. What I would like to do, is find a framework for integrating all these standards - does Version 5 provide any functionality for this type of requirement?

    Kind regards

    Ann

    Hi Ann

Give me a call and we can discuss what your needs are in more detail, exactly what do you mean by a framework for integrating all these standards and then have a look at Q-Pulse to see if it can be configured to meet those needs.

    Kind regards

My department was similar - the main priority was Charter Mark, which we achieved for the Social Work department as a whole (prior to mergin with Housing), which was a decent achievement.

Have you used Q-Pulse to help achieve Charter Mark? If not, do you think Q-Pulse could be used to either help the department or organisation achieve Charter Mark or to help with the audit process?

Regarding your question about a framework - I asked one of my more knowledgeable colleagues to answer that as you can see above!

    Hi all,

I work at Oldham Council within the Adult & Community Services and here we have been using the CA/PA module to register, monitor and report on the complaints we recieve.  This has been invaluable in getting monthly, quarterly and annual reports out.

We are in the process of looking at utilising the Documents module to monitor any policies and procedures.  This will help the Performance Development team in keeping up to date with any reviews and changes on the documents currently in circulation.

The next potential step is to introduce the Training module to another team who will use this to monitor staff going on training.

     Thanks for sharing Arfan!

I definitely think - from my experience - that the document module will be invaluable in local government. I remember multiple drafts and revisions to procedure and policy documents when I worked in local government and ownership wasn't clear.

Let us know how you get on if and when you start using the document module.
